When speculations regarding the launch of upgraded version of OnePlus 3 started floating in the gadget market, I immediately postponed my purchase of OnePlus 3 and waited for the news to be confirmed. I am a big OnePlus fan and thus, really ecstatic to know that OnePlus 3T is launched in India today with starting price of Rs. 29,999 for the 64GB storage model and 34,999 for the 128GB storage model.
With its November launch in UK, Europe and North America, OnePlus 3 sales were stopped. Nothing is confirmed regarding the same in India. Even though there is only a slight difference of design that too only in color, OnePlus 3t comes with upgraded configuration compared to OnePlus 3 with slight increase in price. Detailed specifications of OnePlus 3T are given below:
Look and feel of OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 3 will remain exactly the same. Only one slight difference is OnePlus 3T’s gunmetal grey is slightly different than OnePlus 3’s Graphite finish. Both are extremely slim, light weight and have anodized aluminum alloy build, front mounted fingerprint sensor and USB Type-C port.
- Measurement: 152.7 x 74.7 x 7.35 mm
- Weight: 158g
- Color options: Champagne gold color options and gunmetal grey
Similar to OnePlus 3, OnePlus 3T has 5.5 inch full HD display. It has Optic AMOLED display with richer and deeper colours than LCD display. This is mounted with corning Gorilla glass 4 protection.
OnePlus 3T has mostly the same camera specifications as OnePlus 3 such as auto HDR and manual control with enhancement in the front camera. It has 16 megapixel rear with aperture of f/2.0 with autofocus and 4K video recording. Front facing camera is 8 MP and fixed autofocus. One significant difference is the electronic image stabilization improvement which ensure much smoother movement during the video shoot process.
Software and hardware
Significant difference of OnePlus 3T from OnePlus 3 is in the hardware and the software. OnePlus 3T runs on a modified and customized version of OxygenOS unlike OnePlus 3 which runs on Android Marshmallaw. OxygenOS gives better experience than Android Marshmallow. It is customized to have uniform app icon sizes, new apps and enhanced doze mode for better battery performance.
OnePlus 3 features Qualcomm SD820 chip, adreno 530 graphics, 6GB RAM, 64GB storage and 3000nAh battery which supports dash charge where else OnePlus 3T features SD821, enhanced version of SD 820 resulting in faster and more efficient device, 6GB RAM, 64GB storage and 3400nAh battery which is around 14% more battery juice than 3000mAh used in OnePlus 3. Though Oneplus 3T retains 6GB Ram and 64GB storage options it also comes with additional option of 128GB if you would like to go for more capacity. Like OnePlus 3, it also offers NFC to support for Android pay.
OnePlus 3T is almost similar to OnePlus 3 in terms of design and looks but with difference in battery performance, power and the front facing camera. If you are concerned about extra speed and extra battery life and active in Instagram then definitely go for it. I am eagerly looking forward to December 14th for the sale to start.
