Modi Government has been literally in the limelight these days with numerous infamous Ban Saga and bizarre claims without any credibility or sensibility. In the absence of great Classical Greek Philosophers like Plato and Socrates, modern Philosophers are finding it tough to come up with valid logical theories or arguments to tackle these above mentioned bizarre instances like “Recent claim of Rajasthan High Court Judge, Justice Mahesh Chandra Sharma that “Peacocks are lifelong celibate” and thus, Peahens get impregnated by tears” and not to mention the ridiculous Momo news.
Most recent being the release of a Booklet called “Mother and Child Care” ahead of the International Day for Yoga on 21 June 2017. Compiled by the central Government funded, Central Council for Research in Yoga and Naturopathy (CCRYN), this book was released by Honorable Union Minister Shripad Naik. It contains absolutely preposterous advice for Pregnant Woman without any scientific or medical credibility. The book advises the newly pregnant ladies to avoid non-vegetarian food, to embrace complete abstinence from Sex after the conception and not to divulge into any other “dirty” thoughts except spiritual thoughts in order to ensure a birth of a healthy baby. This gave rise to a media uproar and many criticism including a few doctors and Yoga experts who spoke against the ignorant Modi Government which might mislead the innocent illiterate Women and off course the feminist group for advocating absolute nuisance to Women.
Nevertheless, one thing which deserves our applaud is the effort of our honorable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi who suggested The United Nations General Assembly(UNGA) to declare a day as International Yoga Day. As per his suggestion, International Yoga Day is a reality now and today, June 21 is being celebrated as the International Yoga Day 2017. By the look of it and the storm arising in the internet with various pictures and videos, it seems like it was a grand success. It is indeed a very good initiative by Naredra Modi to make people aware of Yoga which is one of the most important paths towards leading a healthy life both physical and mental, which people often tend to or forced to ignore due to hectic mechanical life. It is also a matter of pride for Indians as every year we lead the World in this realm of Yoga, ensuring a grand celebration that originated from our ancient Yogic Traditions.
